Pomegranate, Apple and Cucumber Raita

image

I remember the family lunches and dinners at my grandmothers (paternal grandmother) home. The menu used to be elaborate with the gujju food but also some foods which were not traditional gujju were cooked by my fui (father’s sister). She is an amazing cook and I believe I inherited the gujju food loving taste buds from my father’s side 🙂

Recently I remembered the raita which were often served as an accompaniment to the dinners and lunches at my grandmothers, which we don’t make at my father’s. And I didn’t have the recipe. So I asked my fui for the recipe which she happily shared along with some other recipes(which will be shared on the blog soon)
The raita is simple, fresh and a good combination of sweet and sour taste.

Ingredients :
Pomegranate seeds
Apple remove skin and chop finely
Cucumber remove skin and chop finely
(Equal quantities of pomegranate, apple and cucumber)
Green chilli
Curds(Dahi)
Salt
Black salt(sanchal)
Cumin powder(jeera powder)
Powdered sugar
Coriander leaves finely chopped

Mix all in a bowl  and serve after tasting .For variation Grapes can also be added.
